Albania celebrates 69th anniversary

anniversaryA day ago Albania celebrated the 69th anniversary of the liberation of those thousands of young Albanians that fought against the Nazi-fascist occupation during World War 2! A same day as the past, the November 29th began with the homage at the Martyrs’ Cemetery. The President of the Republic of Albania Bujar Nishani a long with the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Parliamentary speaker Ilir Meta and the Socialist Parliament Members and all the allies of the left wing party, have joined all together in the “Mother Albania” memorial by putting wreaths and praying for those who gave their lives for the freedom of Albania.

Ilir Meta the Parliament Speaker along with the Prime Minister Edi Rama organized the commemoration activity by addressing to all those families that gave their lives for the freedom of the country. During the talk of the Parliament speaker Ilir Meta said that this day is not a day that only reminds Albanians about the sacrifice of the dead, but it also made us all work harder for the better of the Republic of Albania.

After the Parliamentary Speaker Ilir Meta, Edi Rama declared “the lives given in the Second World War speak to us every year on this day, not for war or peace, not for the clashes, but for the sacrifice. They’re not for division, but for unification.

Not for death, but for life”. IN his last few words Edi Rama also said that this historic day of the Republic of Albania which needs to play a role not only as a day of honors a nd celebrations, but also a day of a reflection. During the day the Major of Tirane Lulzim Basha had organized a beautiful celebration throwout the city and it ended with a huge Festival in the Scanderbeg square.
